Building Better Digital Citizens – One Student at a Time
As our world becomes increasingly connected, young people must be equipped not just with access to the internet, but with the right knowledge to navigate it responsibly.
That’s why this month’s (May) #BitByBit digital literacy drive took us to Kanvili Tuunayili M/A School in Tamale, where we engaged over 70 Basic 8 and 9 students in an interactive session on Internet Etiquette, often referred to as Netiquette.

For many of these students, it was their first structured learning experience on how to use the internet safely and respectfully. Together, we explored key topics like online privacy, cyberbullying, digital footprints, respectful communication, and verifying online information. The students shared their own experiences, some amusing, others eye-opening, which made the session deeply relevant and relatable.
We didn’t just teach rules; we helped the students understand the why behind good digital behavior.

Through our #BitByBit initiative, we’re proving that change doesn’t have to happen all at once. Bit by bit, we’re building a generation of thoughtful digital citizens—one school, one classroom, one student at a time.
We’re grateful to the staff of Kanvili Tuunayili M/A for welcoming us, and to every student who showed up with curiosity and courage.
