Thrive Nest Hosts Stakeholder Meeting with Informal TVET Actors

Last week, in collaboration with the Informal Apprenticeship Division of Ghana TVET Services, we hosted a stakeholder engagement with selected master-craft trainers across Tamale.

This dialogue brought trainers in tailoring, cosmetology, weaving, agriculture, and woodwork and metal works.

The goal was to co-design a digital skills training program that meets their real-world needs, from improving record keeping and business visibility to reaching more customers through social media and digital tools.

This engagement is the first step toward empowering master-crafts and their apprentices to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

Why This Matters

In Ghana, a significant number of young people gain vocational skills outside of the formal education system, through apprenticeship, family-based learning, and community training setups. However, these systems often lack structure, access to digital tools, and links to livelihood pathways.

Thrive Nest is working to close that gap by designing programs that combine basic digital literacy, entrepreneurship support, and life skills tailored for informal learners and their mentors.
